OnePlus 6T announced: Top Notch Specs and $549 Price Tag

Big battery, small notch, affordable phone with robust specs

It’s not so long since OnePlus revealed OnePlus 6 with powerful specifications. The phone came out as a serious competitor to the expensive flagship phones. The OnePlus 6T is the second phone from OnePlus that is announced at an event today in New York. The device was previously leaked and seems the same. It comes with high-end specs and an affordable price tag which is a big win for the company. When compared with high-end smartphones of 2018, OnePlus 6T seems a serious contender in every department. The flagship killer has 3700 mAh battery, 6 Gigs of RAM (base model) and 128 Gigs of storage. Here are the features, specs and release date of Oneplus 6T.

Tech Specs

  • Optic AMOLED, 6.41-inch Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845
  • 16 + 20 MP, Dual Camera
  • Up to 8 GB RAM, 256 GB Storage
  • 3700 mAh battery

OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch OLED panel with 2340 x 1080 resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen density is 402ppi and has an in-display fingerprint sensor. OnePlus 6T is the second flagship phone that comes with an under-screen fingerprint scanner; the first is Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Although we have seen in-display fingerprint scanners in mid-range Vivo smartphones, however, OnePlus 6T is the second flagship phone to get this. The company claims that it is the fastest implementation of an under-screen fingerprint scanner in any smartphone. The company calls it “Screen Unlock.”
OnePlus 6T comes with a notch, but it is smaller than any notch on any flagship smartphone. The company made front chin of the phone smaller as compared to other smartphones.
The phone has dual camera setup just like the previous model. It comes with 16MP and 20MP camera sensors with f1.7 for the primary camera lens. The phone also has OIS+EIS and Nightscape which seems like a take on Google Pixel 3‘s “Night Sight” feature that is coming soon to Pixel phones. Nightscape will resolve the OnePlus’ night photography problem in previous phones. The company worked with a famous artist Kevin Abosch and introduced new studio Lighting feature. This feature lets the user create flattering portrait photos. The video camera can record slow-mo videos of 480fps.

With a focus on gaming, OnePlus claims to outperform other flagship phones like the Galaxy Note 9 with the optimized gaming experience in OnePlus 6T. The company also introduced Smart Boost feature that lets you enjoy games 20% faster than any other phone. OnePlus 6T runs on Oxygen 9.0 powered by Android Pie 9.0. Android 9.0 on OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T works smooth.
For the first time, OnePlus is partnering with T-Mobile for direct sales of OnePlus phones instead of limiting the sales to the online system. The device will be sold in midnight black which is more of matte black and mirror black colors. OnePlus also introduced an exchange program in collaboration with T-Mobile which lets you exchange a variety of phones including every OnePlus phone company ever released. The trade in the program offers $300 off when your device is eligible.
When it comes to price, the phone is very affordable as the base model starts from $549 with 6 Gigs of RAM and 128 Gigs of storage. The other variants are starting from $579 (8GB RAM + 128GB), $629 (8GB RAM + 256GB). The 6T is same as OnePlus 6 but with slight modifications. OnePlus 6T will go on sale in the first week of November. You can visit the official website for more pricing details and availability.
