The hype gets real as OnePlus announces a release date of new flagship killer

OnePlus finally announces the OnePlus 6T release date, their next flagship killer. The company announced on Twitter that the OnePlus 6T would be officially revealed on October 30. We all knew for a while that the device was on the way but the hype starts now as the date is official.
Earlier, the company confirmed that the smartphone would have an under-screen fingerprint sensor. Leaks are suggesting that the phone will look mostly like its predecessor. However, there’s an addition of waterdrop-shaped notch. Another teaser on an Indian television suggests that the phone will have a two-camera system while rumors are suggesting that the new device will bear a three-camera system.
The CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau confirmed that the new phone from fans favorite company would not have the headphone jack which is a big disappointment for OnePlus fans. He explained in a CNET interview that the decision of removing headphone jack was taken in order to make room for the fingerprint sensor.
The hardware will likely be familiar like Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is rumored to be the powerhouse of the new flagship killer. The OnePlus 6T will probably come with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. That sounds familiar as OnePlus 6.
The price is rumored to be a little more than OnePlus 6. It is said to be near $550 and will be almost $21 more than the predecessor. The company is taking a risk by introducing under-screen fingerprint sensor which seems like a gamble. Recently released phones from OEMs like Oppo, Huawei and Vivo already have this feature, but that doesn’t work correctly and is slow as well.
Stay tuned for our coverage on OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus 6T will be launched at an event in New York at 11 am ET.
