The short version: TechEngage® offers a small number of advertising and sponsorship options for technology brands. Every paid placement is clearly labeled, advertisers never control our reporting or reviews, and we do not accept guest posts or paid links in editorial content. Founded in 2003, TechEngage has covered consumer technology, software, and the tech industry for more than two decades. Our readers range from people buying their first smart home device to professionals following the industry. Advertising helps fund that work, and the rules below exist so it never undermines reader trust.
Advertising options
- Display advertising: ad placements on TechEngage pages, arranged directly with our team. Ads are visually separate from editorial content.
- Sponsored articles: branded content published on TechEngage and labeled as sponsored. See the guidelines below.
- Event sponsorships and media partnerships: support for coverage of conferences, launches and industry events, under the rules on our event sponsorships page.
Pricing and availability depend on scope, timing and placement. We share them on request and do not publish a rate card.
What advertising does not buy
- Reviews and rankings. Product reviews and buying guides are independent. Payment never affects a verdict, score or position on a list. Our reviews guarantee explains how reviews are researched.
- News coverage. Editors decide what to report. Advertisers cannot request, approve or block editorial stories.
- Links in editorial articles. We do not sell links, “link insertions” or guest posts.
Our business and editorial teams operate separately. Read our ethics and editorial standards for the full policy, and our affiliate disclosure for how we earn commissions from some product links.
Sponsored content guidelines
These rules apply to every sponsored article on TechEngage:
- Agreement required. A sponsored post with links to your website is advertising and requires a sponsorship agreement.
- Clear labeling. Sponsored posts are labeled as sponsored at the top of the article and name the sponsoring party, consistent with the FTC Endorsement Guides.
- Link attributes. Links to a sponsor or its products carry rel=”sponsored”, in line with Google’s spam policies. We allow a maximum of 3 such links per post.
- No custom anchor text requests. We do not accommodate keyword anchor text or specific link placement demands.
- Relevance. Sponsored content must fit our technology focus and be genuinely useful to readers. We may decline any proposal.
- Length and editing. Posts must be at least 250 words. We edit for accuracy, clarity, grammar and formatting, and we remove claims we cannot support.
- Media rights. Include at least one high-resolution image you have rights to use, or that is available under a suitable Creative Commons license. The same applies to video.
- Payment. Fees are set case by case. Full payment is due before publication.
- Views. Sponsored posts reflect the sponsor’s views, not TechEngage’s.
- Removal. We may remove sponsored content if the advertised product or service is found to violate copyright, patent or other applicable law, or misleads readers.
- Confidentiality. The commercial terms of a sponsorship agreement are confidential. The fact that a post is sponsored is always disclosed.

Frequently asked questions
Are sponsored posts labeled on TechEngage?
Yes. Every sponsored article is labeled as sponsored and names the sponsor, and links to the sponsor use rel=”sponsored”.
Can I pay for a product review?
No. Reviews are editorial and independent. Brands may suggest products for consideration, but payment never affects whether we review a product or what we conclude.
Do you accept guest posts or sell links?
No. We do not accept guest posts for links and we do not sell link insertions in existing articles.
How do I get advertising rates?
Email [email protected] with the subject Advertising: or use the inquiry form on this page. Rates depend on format, scope and timing.
