These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of techengage.com and related services (the “site”), published by TechAbout LLC (“TechEngage,” “we,” “us” or “our”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.
1. Who can use the site
The site is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to post comments or send us submissions, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
2. Information only, not professional advice
TechEngage publishes news, reviews, buying guides, explainers and tools for general information. Content is not legal, financial, investment, medical, security or other professional advice. Prices, specifications and availability change often, and you should confirm important details with the manufacturer, retailer or a qualified professional before relying on them. 3. Our content and trademarks
Unless stated otherwise, the articles, photographs, graphics, logos, videos, tools, code and design of the site are owned by TechAbout LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
TechEngage® is a registered trademark of TechAbout LLC (U.S. Trademark Reg. No. 6823709; UK Trademark No. UK00003417167). You may not use our name or logos in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation or sponsorship without written permission. Other product names and brands mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners.
4. How you may use our content
You may:
- read, share links to, and print or save articles for personal, non-commercial use;
- quote brief excerpts for commentary, criticism, news reporting or research, with clear credit to TechEngage and a link to the original article; and
- use the site’s share buttons to post links on social networks.
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- republish, sell, license or distribute full articles, images or substantial portions of our content;
- remove or change copyright notices, bylines or attribution;
- scrape, crawl or systematically download content, or use it to build databases or datasets, including for training artificial intelligence or machine learning models, except for standard search engine indexing that follows our robots.txt; or
- frame the site or present our content as your own.

5. Comments and user submissions
When you post a comment or send us a tip, story idea, startup submission, image or other material (“User Content”), you keep ownership of it. You grant TechAbout LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, reproduce, edit for length and clarity, translate and distribute that User Content in connection with the site and our publication, in any format.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to share your User Content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or break the law. We may review, edit, decline or remove any User Content at our discretion. Comments are held for moderation under our Comments Policy, and all participation must follow our Community Guidelines.
Sending us a tip or idea does not create a confidential or business relationship, and we are not obligated to use, pay for or return it. If you need your identity protected as a news source, say so when you contact us through Tip Us.
6. Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that invades someone’s privacy or infringes intellectual property;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
- post spam, advertising, affiliate links or other unauthorized promotion;
- upload malware or attempt to probe, disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers or other users’ accounts;
- use automated means to submit comments or forms, or to get around moderation, bans or other access limits; or
- use the site in any way that violates applicable law.
We may suspend or block access for anyone who breaks these rules.
7. Copyright complaints
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe material on the site infringes your copyright, follow the notice process in our Copyright and DMCA Policy. We remove infringing material when appropriate and may terminate the access of repeat infringers.
8. Affiliate links and sponsored content
Some pages include affiliate links, and TechEngage may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, TechEngage earns from qualifying purchases. 9. Third-party websites and products
The site links to websites, stores, apps and services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, products, pricing, security or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Purchases you make from a retailer are between you and that retailer, under its terms.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TechAbout LLC and its owners, editors, writers and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, use or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site or its content, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless TechAbout LLC and its owners, editors, writers and contractors from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your misuse of the site, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone else’s rights.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in your local courts.
14. Changes, termination and general terms
- Changes: we may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after changes take effect, the updated Terms apply.
- Termination: we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site, or restrict your access, at any time.
- Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the policies linked here, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site. Separate written agreements (for example, for advertising or contributed articles) govern those relationships.
