In short: disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, hate speech, spam, self-promotion, misinformation, or sharing other people’s personal information. Comments are reviewed before they appear, and we remove anything that breaks these rules. Report problems to team@techengage.com.
TechEngage® readers include technology professionals, enthusiasts, and people who just want help choosing their next device. Comments are a place to share experience, ask questions, and add to the conversation. These guidelines keep that space useful and respectful. 1. Be respectful
Disagreement is welcome when it moves a discussion forward. Personal attacks, insults, name-calling, harassment, and threats are not. Critique the argument, the product, or the article, not the person.
2. No hate speech or discrimination
We do not allow content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic. This applies to comments, usernames, and profile images.
3. Stay on topic
Keep comments relevant to the article. Helpful tangents are fine; unrelated rants, repeated posts, and attempts to hijack a thread are not.
4. No spam or self-promotion
Do not use comments to promote products, services, websites, or channels for commercial gain. That includes affiliate links, referral codes, link dropping, and solicitation. Businesses interested in reaching our readers can visit our advertising page.
5. Share accurate information in good faith
Share what you believe to be true, and say when something is your opinion or experience. Deliberately spreading false or misleading claims, impersonating others, or posting fabricated reviews is not allowed. If you think one of our articles is wrong, please use our corrections process so an editor can check it.
6. Protect privacy and safety
- Do not post personal information about yourself or anyone else, such as phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses, account details, or private messages.
- Do not share malicious links, pirated software, or instructions intended to cause harm.
- If you need to share sensitive information with our newsroom, use Tip Us instead of a public comment.

7. Moderation and enforcement
- Comments are filtered for spam automatically and held for review by a moderator before they appear, so there may be a delay.
- We may edit, remove, or decline to publish any comment that breaks these guidelines, without notice.
- Repeated or serious violations can lead to a commenter being blocked.
- Threats of violence or other illegal content may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
