The short version: event organizers and PR teams can ask TechEngage® to cover a conference, launch or briefing, or propose a media partnership. Email [email protected] with the subject “Event coverage:”. Sponsorship or travel support never buys favorable coverage, and any support is disclosed to readers.
TechEngage covers technology events, product launches, industry conferences, startup showcases and media briefings when they matter to our readers. There are two ways organizers work with us: requesting editorial coverage, which is free and at our editors’ discretion, or proposing a sponsorship or media partnership, which is a commercial arrangement with strict labeling rules.
Requesting editorial coverage
Send the request as early as possible, ideally several weeks before the event. Include:
- Event name, dates, location and website, or the livestream link for virtual events.
- What is new: announcements, launches, speakers or research being released.
- Access offered: press passes, briefings, interviews, demos or embargoed materials, with embargo times.
- Any travel, accommodation or hospitality you intend to offer, so we can decide whether to accept it.
- A media contact who can answer questions during the event.
Coverage is prioritized by reader value, newsworthiness and available editorial resources. We cannot cover every event and may decline without a detailed explanation.
Sponsorships and media partnerships
Organizers can also propose a paid sponsorship or a media partnership, such as supporting travel, production or logistics, or promotional placements for the event. These arrangements are handled by our business side under the rules on our advertising page, separately from editorial decisions.
Independence rules
- Editors keep control. TechEngage decides headlines, angles, conclusions, criticism and whether to publish at all.
- No copy approval. Organizers and sponsors may provide schedules, access, images and background, but cannot review or approve articles before publication.
- No guaranteed outcomes. Sponsorship does not guarantee a positive review, a specific headline, a product recommendation, ranking placement or removal of criticism.
- We may still decline. If an event or announcement is not useful to readers, we may decline coverage even when sponsorship or access is offered.
These rules follow our ethics policy and editorial standards.
Labeling and disclosure
- Travel and hospitality: if an organizer paid for travel, accommodation or event access beyond a standard press pass, the article says so.
- Sponsored content: promotional articles paid for by an organizer are labeled as sponsored, name the sponsor, and use rel=”sponsored” on sponsor links.
- Media partnerships: when TechEngage is an official media partner of an event, our coverage of that event discloses the partnership.
Types of coverage
- Pre-event previews and explainers.
- News from the event, interviews and product demos.
- Post-event analysis and trend reporting.
