Apple Event 2019: All announcements that matter

The most awaited event of the year took place yesterday, on September 10, 2019, at Apple’s Spaceship campus in Cupertino, California. The iPhone focused event had several announcements as well, including updates about Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, new 7th generation iPad, and Apple Watch Series 5.

But of course, the ‘apple of everyone’s eye’ at the event was the new iPhone. Apple announced three new successors of their flagship smartphones; iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

1. Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade is an upcoming Apple video gaming subscription service that will be offered on iOS, tvOS, macOS. At the event, Apple confirmed that the new video gaming service would be launched on September 19, and users can subscribe to the service at only $4.99 per month. Moreover, users are also offered to use the trial for up to one month. It will be available in the Arcade Tab on the App Store on iOS 13.

The video gaming service also allows family sharing access with up to 6 members. Along with this, Apple is launching more games every month which none of the services has ever done. 

2. Apple TV+

At the event, Apple made another announcement about the launch of Apple TV+, which is Apple’s upcoming video streaming service.

The good news here is that if you buy any new Apple device such as Mac, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, you’ll get the subscription for Apple TV+ free for a year. Apple TV+ is going to launch five new original TV shows and will add more each month. The service will be launched on November 1, and the subscription will start at $4.99 per month. 3. iPad 7th generation

Next up is the iPad. The seventh-generation iPad has a display of 10.2 inches and will come with Smart Connector, Apple Pencil support, iPadOS, and A10 Fusion chip.

The new iPad starts at $329, and you can order yours on September 30. The Smart Keyboard is a full-size keyboard that is available for a price of $159 however the Apple Pencil (first gen) sold separately for $99. The schools in the US can get the iPad for a price of $299 and Apple Pencil for $89. The new iPad has an aluminum body, and it comes with a free Apple TV+ subscription for a year. 4. Apple Watch Series 5

The attention of the audience was then shifted towards Apple Watch as soon as the company announced the release of Apple Watch Series 5. For the first time, Apple Watch has an “always-on display” feature. The screen goes dim when the wrist of the user is down and when the user raises his/her wrist the display returns to full brightness.

5. iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max

The much-awaited announcement of the event was the new iPhones. Apple officially unveiled the three models of iPhone, announcing iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Apple’s iPhone 11 is a successor to the iPhone XR. The focus of the new phone was primarily on the camera. The dual-camera setup of iPhone 11 includes wide and ultra-wide lenses which allow the users to adjust zooming and cropping post-production. It further comprises of next-generation smart HDR and a new Night Mode display. The front camera of the new iPhone is of 12 Mega Pixels with tiny bit wide-angle lens. It also has a one-hour long battery life as compared to iPhone XR.

iPhone 11 Pro comes with a 5.8 inches OLED display whereas iPhone Pro Max comes with a stunning 6.5 inches OLED display. The smartphones have the longest battery life in an iPhone. The Pro versions have four hours more battery life as compared to iPhone Xs and iPhone 11 Pro Max up to five more hours than the iPhone Xs Max.

The iPhone 11 starts from $699 for 64 GB storage which is surprisingly $50 less than the price for iPhone XR. And iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max start from $999 and $1099 respectively. The phones will be released on September 20. Read more about iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models here.
