Despite the tensions between US-China regarding trade wars, Huawei officially announces the all-new Huawei Mate 30 series without Google software preinstalled. The event took place in Munich, Germany where Huawei unveiled three new smartphones; Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, and Mate 30 RS along with a 5G variant.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro:

Huawei Mate 20 Pro has one of the ambitious smartphone cameras we’ve seen, and now, Mate 30 Pro also comes with the impressive camera hardware. The phone is an exciting combination of high-res display, bigger battery, and advanced camera features.

Camera:

Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with monstrous camera specs out of the box. It comes with triple camera setup and a 3D depth sensor on the back.

It comes with a 40MP SuperSensing Wide camera which is the same from P30 Pro and a 40MP Ultra-Wide Cine camera which is an Ultra-Wide sensor. There’s a telephoto lens of 8MP with Optical Image Stabilization. SuperSensing Wide lens also supports OIS.

The last spot with the rear camera is of the 3D depth sensor. Huawei says that the Mate 30 Pro has a 45x zooming range and 3x optical zoom with 30x digital zoom. The Pro-Bokeh feature in Mate 30 Pro takes professional level portraits.

These cameras are using a tech which Huawei calls 3D ToF sensor, to render bokeh in videos.

Mate 30 Pro comes with 4K 60fps support and is the first smartphone from Huawei with that much frame rate in a 4K video. The video camera can go up to ISO 52,000 for low light shots.

Here’s the amazing part; the phone has an incredibly impressive camera feature. With Mate 30 Pro, you can shoot 720p slow-mo videos at whopping 7,680fps. And that’s just not it; you can also capture time-lapse videos in 4K with HDR+ colors.

The company didn’t stop at the rear of the phone with ambitious camera specs; it has a 32MP front-facing camera along with a 3D scanning sensor. With that, now you don’t have to let your phone make guesses about your phone’s orientation. Huawei’s Da Vinci NPU uses AI Auto-rotate to track your head and change the orient of the phone.

Display:

Speaking of the screen, Huawei’s new flagships are no jokes when it comes to the display. The smartphone has a 6.53-inch “Horizon Display” with 88-degree curved sides. The OLED panel is of 1176 x 2400px resolution and supports Huawei’s M-Pen stylus (hello Note 10). Huawei’s in-house Kirin 990 chipset powers the smartphone.

Battery:

Mate 30 Pro has a massive battery of 4,500mAh with fast charging support up to 40W wired and 27W wireless.

With a curved display, Mate 30 Pro lacks physical volume buttons; instead, Huawei is using a touch-sensitive solution. The Mate 30 Pro is available in six colors, including green and orange vegan leather variants. The other colors are Black, Cosmic Purple, Emerald Green, and Space Silver.

Mate 30 is another phone in Mate 30 series. It comes with 6.62-inch flat display instead of a curved one, which is slightly smaller than the flat panel. The battery size is 4,200mAh with fast charging support.

The phones will ship with Kirin 990 which comes with built-in 5G modem. So, Mate 30 series will have 5G versions as well. There’s also Mate 30 RS which is a premium take on this series with a Porsche Design, in red and black color.
