Choose a graphics card for your games, monitor and delivered price. This is a research-based shortlist, not a TechEngage lab test. The eight exact partner cards below remain the same across the comparison, product sections and recommendations. Their value depends on the price conditions, not on the presence of a retailer link.
Offer warning: A retailer widget can show a price above our recommended ceiling. In that case, skip that offer: the card is not recommended at that price. These ceilings are editorial buying limits in US dollars before tax, not measured performance rankings or promises of availability. Compare shipping, warranty and condition before checkout.

Native rendering, upscaling and generated frames
Native raster rendering uses the stated output resolution without upscaling or frame generation; report ray tracing separately and turn it off for a raster-only comparison. Upscaling reconstructs an output image from a lower internal resolution: name DLSS, FSR or XeSS, its version and quality mode. Frame generation inserts additional frames: specify the generation mode and separate displayed FPS from the base rendered frame rate and input latency. A larger generated-frame count does not establish equal native performance.
Compare benchmarks only when their test conditions are documented: tester, game and patch, resolution, graphics preset, ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, CPU, memory, GPU, driver and operating system. An upscaled result and a native-resolution result are not directly interchangeable.
The eight product candidates
1. ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition — 4K shortlist
16 GB GDDR7. Recommended only below $1100. Compare native and ray-traced results for your games before paying the premium over a 5070 Ti. Both have 16 GB of memory; the extra cost does not buy a larger memory pool.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $1100 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon2. MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC — 4K value candidate
16 GB GDDR7. Recommended only below $850. Recommended only below $850 and when it is at least $200 cheaper than a comparable RTX 5080 offer. The $250 difference between their launch starting prices is historical, not a promise about today’s listings.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $850 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon3. ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition — 1440p shortlist
12 GB GDDR7. Recommended only below $600. Its 12 GB capacity is the same as the RTX 4070 SUPER. A displayed frame rate using DLSS Multi Frame Generation must not be described as RTX 4090-equivalent native raster performance.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $600 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon4. Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 7900 XT — High-memory AMD candidate
20 GB GDDR6. Recommended only below $650. This is the RDNA 3 RX 7900 XT with 20 GB, not the RDNA 4 RX 9070 XT. Buy for a workload that benefits from this memory capacity and a competitive offer; stock availability alone is not a value argument.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $650 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon5. GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Gaming OC — Previous-generation deal candidate
12 GB GDDR6X. Recommended only below $500. The RTX 4070 SUPER has 12 GB of GDDR6X, not 16 GB, and its launch starting price was $599. Do not confuse it with the separate RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Consider it only below $500 and meaningfully cheaper than a suitable RTX 5070.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $500 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon6. PowerColor Hellhound Radeon RX 7900 XTX — 24 GB AMD candidate
24 GB GDDR6. Recommended only below $800. The XTX has 24 GB rather than the XT’s 20 GB. Check application support for a creator or local-AI purchase: capacity alone does not establish compatibility, speed or software support.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $800 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
Check availability on Amazon7. ASRock Intel Arc B580 Challenger OC — Budget candidate
12 GB GDDR6. Recommended only below $250. Recommended only below $250. A $329.99 offer fails that condition and should be skipped under this guide’s budget recommendation. Check current driver support for your games and enable Resizable BAR on a supported system.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $250 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.
$.... (Product detail is unavailable temporarily)8. ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition — Enthusiast candidate
32 GB GDDR7. Recommended only below $2200. Consider only for a specific gaming or professional workload that justifies the cost. Check the exact board’s dimensions, power connectors and manufacturer PSU recommendation. A missing offer is not evidence of stock.
Price warning: If the displayed offer is $2200 or more, do not buy it on the strength of this recommendation. A cheaper alternative may be a different partner board with the same GPU; compare its cooler, warranty and dimensions separately.

Match the shortlist to your setup
| Use case | Candidate | Purchase condition |
|---|---|---|
| 4K shortlist | RTX 5080 | Below $1100 |
| 4K value candidate | RTX 5070 Ti | Below $850; at least $200 below a comparable 5080 |
| 1440p shortlist | RTX 5070 | Below $600 |
| High-memory AMD candidate | RX 7900 XT | Below $650 |
| Previous-generation deal candidate | RTX 4070 SUPER | Below $500 |
| 24 GB AMD candidate | RX 7900 XTX | Below $800 |
| Budget candidate | Intel Arc B580 | Below $250 |
| Enthusiast candidate | RTX 5090 | Below $2200 |
For memory capacity, the 4070 SUPER, 5070 and B580 are 12 GB cards; the 5070 Ti and 5080 are 16 GB; the 7900 XT is 20 GB; the 7900 XTX is 24 GB; and the 5090 is 32 GB. Capacity does not guarantee a particular frame rate or useful lifespan. Texture settings, resolution and the game’s memory behavior matter. Check CPU limits at your target frame rate, case clearance and the exact card’s power requirements before ordering.
Final Thoughts
Start with the price ceiling and your actual workload. The B580 is a budget candidate only below $250. The 5070 Ti needs both a sub-$850 offer and a meaningful saving over a 5080. The previous-generation 4070 SUPER needs a real discount and offers 12 GB, not a memory advantage over the 5070. The AMD card in the shortlist is the RX 7900 XT; the RX 9070 XT is a different model. If every suitable offer is above the ceiling, wait or compare other cards rather than treating an inflated listing as good value.
