OnePlus 7 Pro is a $700 flagship killer with a magnificent screen

Once known as a budget smartphone company, OnePlus is rolling up its sleeves to jump in the premium smartphone business by introducing their latest flagship phone, OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus 6T was highly admired among the community and is one of the best smartphones in the market. With a $100 bump in price than last year’s 6T, OnePlus 7 Pro starts at $669 and offers a whole new different experience.

The company is moving forward to bring the bezel-less design to life by obliterating notch from its smartphone lineup. OnePlus 6T had a teardrop notch. However, the OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a bezel-less display without a notch and a pop-up selfie camera, as suggested in some leaks a few months back.

With the 6.67-inch screen which OnePlus calls a Fluid AMOLED display, the smartphone carries the world’s first AMOLED display panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Unlike other smartphones, 90Hz refresh rate makes everything smooth on-screen and offers clarity like never before.

The in-display fingerprint sensor is also fast as compared to the one in OnePlus 6T. The screen unlock time is now 0.21 seconds from OnePlus 6T’s 0.34 seconds.

The rear camera offers more pixels than the previous OnePlus phones. It has a 48MP primary camera including an ultra-wide, and 3x optical zoom telephoto lens. There’s a 16MP sensor on the front for selfies which also supports Face Unlock feature.

Premium pricing means premium internals. The hardware in this phone is top of the class as it houses a Snapdragon 855 chip, a 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage in the high-end variant. What makes this flagship killer even more special is the UFS 3.0 storage, which makes it crazy fast. It is the first device to be officially available with UFS 3.0 storage (since the Galaxy Fold is still not officially released) which improves the smartphone’s performance extensively by increasing read, write and data transfer speed.
