Oppo Find X6 Pro: 16GB RAM, 1-inch 50MP camera sensor, and 5000 mAh battery

Announced on 21 March in China, Oppo’s Find X6 Pro is also featured in our list of most anticipated smartphones of 2023. The new flagship phone from Oppo has some exciting features, such as a huge 1-inch camera sensor and an ultra-wide and telephoto lens, which Oppo claims to be the largest in any smartphone to date. So let’s go ahead and dive into further details.

Oppo Find X6 Pro holds an LTPO display of 6.82-inch size with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth user experience. In addition, it has a peak brightness of 2500 nits, meaning its display is viewable in bright daylight.

It has an impressive 16GB of RAM with the latest Snapdragon chip and, most importantly, a Sony IMX989 camera sensor of a 50MP resolution of 1-inch size.

Oppo claims that this sensor is larger than most cameras in any smartphone to date. A larger sensor allows for better light sensitivity and lower image noise. This results in better image quality, particularly in low-light situations.

This 1-inch sensor in the Find X6 Pro is the showstopper. This larger sensor is good news for passionate photographers and videographers as they can get impressive results using this sensor.

According to Oppo, the ultrawide and periscope cameras use Sony’s IMX890 sensors which are also larger than any wide-angle camera in a phone. The ultrawide camera has a 110-degree field of view and can handle macro photography with a minimum focus distance of 4cm. In comparison, the periscope telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom and a 6x hybrid zoom.

While sensor size isn’t the only factor for better image quality, Oppo has also collaborated with Hasselblad for software. This results in a portrait mode designed to emulate the colors and depth of field of Hasselblad lenses.

Besides cameras, the Oppo Find X6 Pro boasts other flagship specs. The phone is rocking Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2 processor with UFS 4.0 storage. The battery has a capacity of 5,000m Ah that can be fast charged at 100W with a cable and 50W wirelessly. There’s also reverse wireless charging, which can charge accessories such as earbuds.

Other notable features of Find X6 Pro include an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. In addition, you can choose between 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. However, the phone is only launched in China now, and the global release still needs to be confirmed.

From a pricing point of view, Oppo Find X6 Pro is available in China starting at 5999 Yuan for 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which is around $870 in the US. For 16GB and 512GB storage options, the price is 6999 Yuan, around $1000 in the US. However, the Find X6, non-Pro, is cheaper and is available at 4499 Yuan, which is around $650 in the US for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
