The role of tech companies is to make our lives easier.
Amazon launched their fourth cashier-less store at 113 S Franklin St, Chicago this Monday. It previously had three stores and all of them in Seattle. This is their first store outside Seattle. You can visit Amazon Go store on weekday hours of 7 AM to 8 PM. It will be closed over the weekends. As for what’s in stock to offer, it’s a fairly standard convenience store, including ready-made items like sandwiches, snacks, salads, frozen food, and chilled beverages etc. The store uses extensive (almost hundreds of) cameras and sensors to check what the customer has picked. The system charges shoppers’ accounts as they walk out of the store. The customer swipes their Amazon Go app through the scanner and they charge from their credit card for the purchase. This process doesn’t require any cashier or person to talk to while purchasing/paying and not even barcode scanners.

Amazon Go store process:

This system solves the problem of waiting in long queues for your turn in superstores. These stores are small in size and are more like convenience stores of about 2,000 square feet. The average United States supermarket is around 45,000 square feet. The original Amazon Go store is located in Seattle. On the first floor of Amazon headquarters. At first, it was opened for their staff only in 2016 and later for the public in 2018. Let us know what you think about increasing the number of these Amazon Go stores!
