Disney+ will be the name of Disney’s streaming service. It will be launched in late 2019. The company has announced two other exclusive shows for its platform. One of them will be from the Star Wars universe, while the other will be from the Marvel universe.
There were a lot of rumors about what the service will be called, but now the rumors have finally been put to rest. At one point, the streaming service was called Disney Play. But now Mickey Mouse has revealed the name just by sending a tweet.

The second show will be about everyone’s favorite Marvel supervillain Loki. The elegant and charismatic Tom Hiddleston will be returning as the green Norse God Loki. We have yet to see if Thor will make a guest appearance in the series.
Both of the shows’ names are a secret as of yet. Hopefully, their names will be revealed as well.
Jon Favreau is already directing an exclusive Star Wars show for Disney+. The show will be called The Mandalorian. The show will be a live action series focused on a group of warriors known as the Mandalorians. This warrior tribe is of course taken from Star Wars’ lore.
The most famous Mandalorians are Boba Fett and Jango. Recently Boba Fett’s stand-alone movie that was about to happen was canceled all of a sudden. This show might give hope to the green bounty hunter’s appearance in the show.
The show will be set in between events of Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens.
So Disney+ is already creating a lot of buzz among the Star Wars community. It remains to be seen how much of an impact the streaming service manages to create in reality though. Disney is reportedly trying to cash in on Marvel’s success.
It is planning to create a series for every Marvel superhero on the roster. Several rumors suggest that there will soon be a series for Scarlet Witch. It will certainly be a big payday for Elizabeth Olsen if the rumors turn out to be true.
As far as Disney+ is concerned, the streaming service has a major uphill battle against other video streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Both Netflix and Hulu have been around for such a long time that it will be hard to beat them at their own game. Even Amazon Prime has gained many followers over the years. It’s because of shows like The Grand Tour and The Man in the High Castle.
Moreover, these subscription services, especially Netflix, offer great value for money. Their prices start at just $7.99 for the basic package. It remains to be seen what kind of price Disney sets for their subscription service.
It should be cheap because let’s be honest they have bucketloads of it already.
